I am thinking of buying a circular polarising filter....:naughty:

I currently have a few NDs and grads etc.. of the square p type variety...

Which type would be better a square CP filter to fit my adaptor or a Round screw on filter ???

Any difference... :shrug:
 
The Cokin P CP is a round filter anyway.... You will need to rotate it relative to the other filters.

Should have looked on the cokin site first...

So the Cokin filter is round and fits into the filter holder and rotates in the holder...

Is this type of filter any good or are the screw on type better ????

No idea on the Cokin. I have Hoya Pro-1 which works well....
 
I'd get a screw in hoya pro 1. Better than the Cokin ones IMO.
 
If you want to use it with the ND grads you could either use a square one, or there are large 105mm ones that screw onto the filter holder with an adaptor (very expensive though).

You should be able to get a Hitech square filter to fit the Cokin holder
 
Using a screw in CPL filter with the ND grads is a PITA. You have to adjust the angle of the CPL and then hold that still while you rotate the ND filter holder to get the grad horizon where you want it ... talk about needing 3 hands :help:

Much easier is the Cokin (other makes are available) round one that fits into the ND filter holder :clap:

Didnt realise Cokin did a round CPL that goes in a holder. Had a look as a possible alternative to using a 105mm CPL and adaptor ring with my Lee holder but theyre both about the same price so quite expensive options! Either would be nice though
 
Thanks guys for the info....

I think like Bristolian said probably easier to get a filter to fit my holder so that i can use it with other filters...

Will let you know how i get on...
