Took my 70-200mm lens out and noticed it makes a small squeeking noise when it focuses.

I'm sure as this is the IS on the lens because when i switch it off it doesn't make the sound.

Anyone else come about this problem? Is it fixable? I'm just considering when i need to sell its going to bring the value down:|

Any one know where to fix? or even it is fixable?

New lens or has it just started doing it?

Used to have one and the IS on these is very noisy - it's normal.

no its 2nd hand. It never made this noise and only started.

I know what you mean by IS noise, it like the sound of cogs of moving inside.

But my noise is that its squeeking or making a 'pig snot' sound so its got to be something inside.

That doesn't sound good tbh. I'd turn the IS off until you can get it looked at by a service centre.

No I've never had cause to use one, thankfully. I think there's a list on the Canon website - the one I know of as it's the most local to me is H.Lehmann's in Stoke-on-Trent.
