when a camera takes a shot on timer, does it focus before the timer starts or after?
because i thought it focuses when you set the timer, in which case it wouldnt focus on the squirrel

Exactly what i was thinking when I saw it in the paper yesterday.

My olympus focused on a half push, then started the timer on full push. There was no way of focussing at the end of the timer. It's the same with my Nikon. Set-up then?

Picture the scene- You want to take a photo of you and your significant other in front of a breathtaking vista- you'd focus on them, set the timer, and then run into position beside them.:shrug:

Thats my take on it, I think it's a fake

Thats right for an SLR but IIRC my compact's clever enough to focus itself when its on self timer...
