Critique Stag

This is my favourite photo I've ever taken, and I predominantly shoot landscape....looking at getting into wildlife photography this coming year so would love some feedback.....

I like the shot but obviously feel it would be better with all the stag in view.
Not sure on the vignette.

Indeed, the vignette will create a local change in the density but the
opposed gradients strategy would, IMO, be of better effect.

I know the vignette isn't to everyones taste. I have other shots (somewhere in Lightroom) where more of the stags back legs are in the shot, but he's typically looking away from me.

The back legs are of no importance to me as it shows it "in its environment".
You have chosen the right take here but the treatment is where it might hurt!

the bottom right hand corner foreground is very distracting

I do like this shot. Yes, the bottom right is a little distracting, but overall it is really well captured
