Yes
Ive used FITP#s soft boxes but I was wondering if there is a way to use standard softboxes with rings and get some kind of speedlight adapter.

Is there such a thing, and if so what is it called?

£32 plus p+p, it's a bit heavy to ship to the states though

True, but something to think about when I get back.

Im not very versed on the softbox fitting types, there are more than one type of ring and they dont all work with each other?

Pro photo boxes seem to be cheaper though and I wouldnt mind getting something like that while im over here for the next few months. Do you have any suggestions or help?

nice, looking forward to it as once the summer hits i'll be doing a whole lot of stuff. Plus its wedding season and the money will start rolling in!! woo ;)

Marking post for reference. The mount looks quite rugged. Would the mounting extend to allow a Metz 45 hammerhead be used instead of the usual speedlite.

Interfit do a speedlight adapter too that works with their beauty dishes, softboxes, etc. normally used with studio strobes.

I have the same ebay one and it is excellent .... the difference between this and FITP's one is that I can fit my radio popper brackets and still line the flash head up.

FITP's may suffer height problems if you want to mount your flash on any type of hot shoe trigger etc

Give B&H in New York a call and see what they say. If anybody has it, they will.
