Standing positions

This might be a stupid question but here goes:

I have just watched the pap link on BBC iplayer and also when watching other press reporters etc I notice that they 'hunch' over when taking shots. I stand quite upright myself, but I am assuming that by them 'hunching' over they are providing more support to steady themselves. Am I assuming right?

I can't see the link, so cannot comment on the hunch.

When I am shooting I tend to adopt a bit of a lean in sort of stance - Elbows tucked in, camera pressed agains face a little. Feet are apart and one foot will be forward. Probably looks like a hunch, but posture is very important for getting a steady shot.
