Stcking Focus Ring Nikon 24-70

Over the past few days I have noticed that the focus ring on my Nikon 24-70 seems to stick a little, its no where as smooth as my 70-200.

Wondered if anyone else has had this issue

AF working OK?
If so and unless you manually-focus it all the time, why worry?
I'm struggling to recall if I've ever rotated mine to see if it works or not...

AF works fine. I never used to use MF until recently when I have been experimenting using MF for Hyperfocal Distance in Live View mode.

I was reading on the FM forums yesterday of this. Pretty common issue it seems. Not sure on the price to fix. Is the lens still in warranty?

OK... Two factors in this: How sticky is it and how annoyed do you get by it?
Might just need a bit of vigorous use to loosen it up...

Fred Miranda I think? Just checked my 24-70 seems fine, although I never use the focus ring anyway, but worth getting checked out if it annoys you.

Yeah Fred Miranda. Canty find the exact post, but it was in the Nikon section within the last 20 or so pages.
