yes of course. I bought a full set off ebay . i can fit my 77mm filter onto my 52mm lens in this way

It'll make a nice metal lens hood

Short answer is yes, Slightly longer answer is yes, but you might end up with some vignetting, especially if you're mounting it on a wide-angle lens (or wide end of a zoom)
