Have people who have used these found them ok, was thinking of buying some so I could use some of my bigger filters on my olympus omd 4/3 system it only has a 37mm dia, I wanted to attempt some longer exposure photos with nd filters etc with larger thread size. Does this cause any problems with image quality if the filter is to far away from the main lens?. Advice please.

On a slightly larger scale, I've used 62-77mm step up ring on my Fuji kit to use a Singh-Ray polariser and couldn't see any difference in quality. The most likely major issue I guess would be internal reflections, and using a hood would minimise the risk.

A step-up ring wont do any harm at all, on smaller diameter lenses I have them attached all of the time, just so I can standardise on a single filter mount.
Only possible negative I can think of, is that they might obstruct the mounting for a lens hood. If not, no reason to not leave it on all the time for when needed.
Hope this sets your mind at rest.

Dependent upon the thickness of the ring you could end up with a bit of vignetting on a really wide-angle lens and hood combination. But generally, I would be surprised if you suffered any adverse affect.

I didn't think it would make a big difference myself, it was just an addendum on the filter site that said it may effect the picture quality.
