Step up rings? Anyone any experience?

Guys

After having a clear out and ending up with 2 lenses with 58mm filter thread, but loads of 67mm filters (CP, ND, Grad) and not wanting to splash any more cash this month I picked up a 58mm-67mm step up ring today, not had a chance to use it, but anyone tried these? worth it? cost £7 so hopefully it wont be 7 quid poorly spent.

I make occasional use of a 72-77 for my CPL....have noticed any problems.

Cheers Bob, wife has given me permission to disappear for the weekend on my bike with camera, who knows where I will end up, but looking at the weather forecast probably not very far, but will have a play.

Stepping up is fine, but don't step down a size

I bought a step down for using my wife's 58mm dioptra lens on the 62mm fitting of my Nikon 105mm macro. I wouldn't step down much but it is ok on this because there is a wide border around the outer of it anyway. I have no problems with it at all.
