I'm quite new watched a few tutorials on iso and aperture. When do u think I should start video making as many friends have asked me to take videos for their businesses.
 
That obviously depends on 2 things we don’t know:
1: what is the expectation level of your friends?
2: Do your skills match their expectation?
 
Are these "businesses" actually businesses? I would wonder about that if they are asking someone with no knowledge or history of making videos to produce something for them.
I'd be inclined, if this is something you want to do for yourself, to learn and practice and develop your skills, without the pressure of expectations from other people.
 
There's a lot to learn starting with optimal camera settings, shooting techniques then editing and grading. As important as anything suitable settings for rendering for expected use.
It's not difficult to put together a reasonably effective short video - but as in a lot of things you don't know what you don't know at first!
 
Why not give it a try and come back if you have more specific questions? Like anything it needs training and practice.
 
What are you using to make the videos? a DSLR camera with video capabilities or a camcorder? How about sound as well. A DSLR is liable to pick up camera noise. Are you going to rely on the inbuilt microphone or and extrnal one. If extrnal will you go for a stereo or directional microphone. if moving are you getting a gimbal to smooth out vibration or just working off a tripod? Have you given consideration to lighting as well?
Are you going to rely on speech at the time of recording or doing a voice over afterwards .

Just interested as I have made a few videos, Now my attention is watching on TV the adverts and seeing how long each video clip is to give me some idea

Hello thanks for all the replies. I have decided to stick to auto atm as I find the balancing of iso and aperture quiet difficult and often mess up some really good opportunities. I also find it hard to get into focus when the subject is moving. I am using a Samyang 1.5 24mm lens.

A great lens :) what focus assist tools does your camera have? Manual focus wide open for moving subjects is tricky and needs all the help you get can. Follow focus systems may be worth a look at too.
