Stick Men

Hi just stumbled upon these, they are great. I really like the way you tell a story I. Your shots. Are they all single exposure ? They ones with many stick men in.

This is something we should all try our hands at. It is a basic camera skill that you have perfected really well.

Keep it up great work

I love the storytelling with these images, well done!
Have the latest nes been done with an LED as the men are a more blue white than warm white from your earlier ones?

Yeah, I'm trying a few different light sources at the moment, my original torch is having a few technical issues. Working on different colours soon hopefully.

Thanks. :)

They are all indeed single exposure, which can be nervy when doing the longer ones (done up to 62 minutes so far) but I think it helps create a smooth image. I fully believe the image should be captured by the camera as-is, with virtually no editing afterwards.

Again, thanks. :)

This is something that I'm doing a lot of now, and have had a recent exhibition of them on canvas. I'm looking for other media to print them too, but I thought I'd share them. I'll post a few that I've done, in chronological order, as I've been progressing, and doing specific shoots for people!

It's something I love doing, and it seems to have gone down well with friends and the public alike, which is why I'm out looking for all sorts of opportunities do put them in!

This is the very first one I did, and has done me well so so, mostly because it envokes a parental emotion -

and a couple from the very first 'location shoot' - a wood just down the road from where I live.

this one is a more 'fun' image more than anything else!

What a great thread, I'm glad it's been revived. Love the shots.

It's been a while, sorry, been very busy!

I went out last night with a plan. The plan was to get a shot of a ribbon of road lit up by cars as a light trial.

Due to a total lack of available viewpoint, this plan failed miserably, so I picked up the camera and started walking back to the car, whereupon Plan B popped into my head, and a little while later this picture had been taken!

One torch, one flash fired twice, plenty of traffic passing by, 5 minute exposure.

Thanks chaps.

Looking to go out again tomorrow evening, hopefully the weather will play ball. :)
