I've started to dissect the free 80mm lens I got with my Mamiya 645j that was jammed at f2.8.
It seems that there's oil all over the back (camera side) of the aperture blades which I think is making them stick and stopping them returning shut (f22 seems to be the 'resting' aperture) under the spring tension. The spring might also be knackered.
Now I know there shouldn't be oil visible on the aperture blades but where should it be? I don't want to clean it all off and realise I should have left some on somewhere. Or should I clean everything and then re-apply some new oil? If so what type of oil, how much and where?
