Sticky for free editing programs.

Would it not be a good idea to put up a sticky for free editing programs?

There are at least two threads on here asking for the same thing and this seems to be a constant question.

Surely a sticky would make it much easier and save space?

Plus, we all know that no one reads stickies

Well I must admit I didn't know about that and obviously a lot of other people didn't since no one has referred to it in the other threads (as far as I know) - which surely makes my point?

The problem is with threads that are stickies, only the original poster or a mod can edit them. Quite often the info is out of date, people can and do post updates but then you end up trawling through 100+ posts to find anything of use.

Or post a thread.

Ideally, a TP wiki would be the best way to go, it could have tutorials, guides, links etc that can be updated by anyone as and when information changes, or if something is incorrect.

But that is a lot of work for the admin team that they probably don't need

If every commonly asked question was made a sticky then any new posts would never appear on the first page of any sub-forum.
