I've got a Manfrotto Proball 468 head on my tripod which has become really still, making it difficult to make fine adjustments to the camera position. It's had the occasional bit of salt-spray in the past, but lots of english summer to rinse it through! Any thoughts on the best way to free it up, without risking it becoming too slippy and uncontrollable?

I've had the same with the Manfrotto joystick type head, it's really stiff and no matter if I adjust the + or - thumbwheel it doesn't make any difference
