Went to Stoborough Heath end of last month and these are my film shots from then. I used the Olympus T32 wide angle filters as diffusers over the twin flash heads. Kodak E100G positive film.

1st shot is of an Argid sawfly (Argidae), aperture F16. Managed to capture it just as it was taking off.

2nd shot is a female Common Scorpion fly (panorpidae), aperture F16.

Last shot is of the Bloody-nosed beetle (Timarcha tenebricosa)

which scanner are you using?

which scanner are you using?

I use the Nikon Coolscan V and scan mainly positive film, either Kodak or Fuji. Some people use flatbed scanners.

I found when comparing what I sanned to the original slide that Nikon's colour management did not represent the saturated colour that well, particularly with Velvia. This led me to purchasing IT8 targets from Wolf faust, which are used to calibrate your scanner. I have been very happy with the results ever since.

I will be writing an article very shortly on my experience.
