If any of you can remember the post I opened the other week about one of my Flickr images being used on a website?

Well I sent them an e-mail with various prices regarding the use of it etc and told them they had not had my permission etc. Prices were £1000 to own the image, £240 to use it on their website at any time or £25 a day to show the image. Didn't really expect an email back.

How ever they did reply and arranged an international call in meeting :cuckoo: it was an American site.

Apologised about what had happened and that it wont happen again, and they took the image off immediately. It was on the site 2 days.

She then asked if I was satisfied with it, I said not really and went onto telling her how much time, money and effort goes into all photography etc and bloggers should know the rules about copy right and its destroying the industry lol

Short of it is I am getting my £50 :-) lol

not sure if I could have got more but I think its a result from what started out an e-mail to which I didnt even think to get a reply to!

Goes to show you there are some good companies out there :-)

thats £50 better than £0, good enough for a memory card or two or to add to the lens / body / whatever fund...........

I just got a Canon 17-55 2.8 on here so its helping towards that now!

they were really great about it,

i tried to give them a little speech about us togs and she said they they are going to inform all of their bloggers to make sure they are away of the copyrights and do's and dont's etc. which I think its a good extra.
 
Was this the blog pic you are referring to?

And make sure they send you payment in Sterling. You wont believe how stupid americans are when it comes to foreign currency. Trust someone who has traded on Ebay with Yanks!

yes she told me what it works out in american money lol

I have to e-mail a 'bill' or what ever the propper word it as I cant think of it right now lol

I agree it sounds odd but when compared to the many that ignore you or even worse stick up 2 fingers I guess they do need some kind of recognition. After all they could have used the image in all innocence, it must happen.
