Stop motion Nikon D60

I have done a search on this forum, but nothing has come up, so I will ask the question myself.

I am trying to figure out how to do stop motion, I am using the Nikon D60.
When I try to select this option my camera says: This option is not available with current settings!

I have no idea what this means, yes I know I should look in the user booklet, but it boxed away at the moment, and I can't get to it :(

Any help please :)
 
If its like the D5000 then I think you have to take loads of piccies then select stop motion to glue them all together to make a video.

I used a external programmable shutter release mechanism ( fleabay for £20 ish i think) to take 1 picture every minutes for 2 hours of clouds. Then I used the in camera option to stitch them together to make a film. Shame I forgot to turn off VR.
