Strange Flickr stats, please help

Hi,

I have just noticed that on Tuesday every Karate image (280+ in 2 sets of the NWKA Tournament) on my Flickr, has been viewed once each from an 'unknown source'.
That looks a little strange to me

There are some up on the NWKA website with my permission which are not linked back to my flickr page so I'm at a loss as to why every image has been viewed on the same day.
I'm not the best at promoting my flickr page and although there is a steady flow of views on some of the images I just can't understand why every single image had been viewed.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps someone who possibly took part in the tournament googled it and wanted to see if they were in any of the pics so they looked at each one?

Hi, thanks Richard. I have just tried to do a search in Google myself for the images and none of my images from flickr show up so not sure if that is how they were accessed.

Can you search flickr if your not a member? surely that would still say flickr as the referrer though, scratching my head a bit now.

You can search flickr if you aren't a member but no idea what they would come up as. I think you're right though, it would show as flickr.

I used google as an example, rather than saying google itself as I know searches under google tend to show up as google.

I'm guessing its the unknown source you're bothered by rather than the fact that you've had 1 hit on everyone of your 280 shots which is what I assumed from the first post, so apologies.

Unknown sources can arise because maybe someone else had visited your site and sent a link to your photos via email or had revisited a bookmark from an earlier browse. This link/bookmark when clicked will show up as unknown source. Other reasons include people setting up their computers to deliberately hide this info (no idea how - but according to flickr it is possible). I'm sure there are other reasons but those are the two I know of.
