Strange haze from older lens - fungus?

I was out shooting with my Cosina 19-35 today and I noticed that when I zoomed it in to 35 the bottom portion of the viewfinder was white and hazy. I've not noticed it before but I rarely use the lens above 19mm. I havent had a chance to examine the lens yet but does this sound like it could be fungus?

Then lens came from eBay a few months ago so I'm unsure of its age and history.

Take the lens off the camera and hold up to a ceiling light. You should be able to see fungus or hazing that way.

I've given the rear element good wipe and it seems to have cures the issue. There's nothing visible looking at a light so hopefully it was just dirt!

Shine a torch through towards you while looking through the lens. Go for every angle but watch your eyes That'll show up every bit of dust haze or fungus
