Straw Bales With More Ooomph

Well my first dull sky bales (to be found here) I quite liked but I thought I'd try some more with a bit more jazzy processing as it was quite rightly pointed out that the sky in the first set was a bit 'flat'

Do these work? C+C welcomed (these are all HDR btw)

2) Threatening Skies

3) Back a Bit

I don't know why but something is saying to me a shallower dof might have worked better, certainly on 1 & 2?

John, a much more interesting set for me. I particularly like the composition in #2, with the glimpsed railway bridge and the hazy horizon.

I think the HDR has created some digital artefacts in the clouds in #1. What programme are you using?

Liking #2 John - The sky is nice and threatening and the bales aren't overpowering in their colours. I like the composition on it too

I like this set better John, looks like you had a better sky when you shot these, #3 like how the tracks in he field lead to the grassy edge of the BG field and sends my eye across the image to just above the bales.
