Street Chess Champion

These were taken on a Sunny afternoon in Manchester and show the Jamaican speed chess champion (apparently called Pablo) in action. He was challenging people to beat him at chess in under 3 minutes, meaning every match was a frenzy of hands flashing across the board and tapping the timer after every piece was moved. This was all while listening to his mini ipod ghetto-blaster pump out chart hits. Very entertaining to watch, and out of the 3 togs who were there, only Joel was brave enough to take him up on the challenge!

I was testing out my 50mm as well, which was interesting considering how narrow the field of view can be on a cropped sensor.
