I immediatley thought some sort of scanner issue but it sounds like the stripe is actually visible on the negatives...Is that right?
That's correct - it's on the neg.
Yes. Looking more closely at the images, on some, it's very faint, and on other images it's impossible to tell. Counting top left, it's clear on frames 2, 5, 6, 9 & 11are they sporadic
Pentax 645n - so no.And is it a camera with a red window on the back?
Just spent time examining the neg and I honestly can't tell.Is it purely visual, or can you feel it? Is it on the emulsion side of the neg or the other side?
Something is wrong with the automatic functions.
I've emailed Miles who sent me to Asahi Photo who sent me to Joyn Pye Technical who sent me to Rüdiger Maerz GmbH in Germany and no-one could help. Also tried Harrow Technical and no dice.
In case anyone ever comes across this with search, I Have Found A Solution!!!!
After getting all depressed that I might have to bin the camera, I read an interesting article that showed exactly the same problem that was down to light seals. I have another back for the 645 which I swapped out and the roll I just put through is fine!!!
Time to order some foam and have a go at replacing the seals so I still have a spare back, but that was such a relief.
That's a quality explanation diagram at post 7Edit to add post 7 on this post is what alerted me to the problem: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/pentax-645n-shutter-lines-on-negatives.139464/
