As the thread title says, I had a stroke of luck today. Went for a stroll round our local antiques centre (big underground place, with loads of little stalls). We go quite often, and the stock doesn't change much, so I usually don't pay much attention. There's occasional Kodaks and so on, and the odd paragon lens, but not much of photographic interest.
However, today I spotted something that caught my eye. There was a Canon (T70 I think) in a locked cabinet surrounded by a few lenses, one of which said Tamron on it. Short chunky lens. Took a closer look and saw TAMRON SP on the side. A closer look and I saw 1:2.5 90mm on the side. Result! Got them to unlock the cabinet, and found it was a minty Adaptall/2 SP 90mm Macro. Came with a bag, and was clean as a whistle with a Hoya skylight filter on the front. Price tag? £12.00. I didn't take too long deciding to buy it.
However, it has a Canon FD mount on it, and I have a Nikon D60, so that's where the favour comes in. Does anyone have a spare(ish) Nikon Adaptall/2 mount I could borrow for a couple of days just to make sure it works OK before I spend £45-odd on a mount? Alternatively, is there anyone around the Northampton area that could try it on an older Canon for me? It would be much appreciated.
