I saw this post last night, but didn't get a chance to send anything. Lovely shot - I really like the light. I got to see Atlantis launch last year and it was fantastic! Sad to think Endeavor is down for good now...

Thanks for the reply, i went back a couple of years later and when there discovered STS88 was going up at 3am (ish) no photos that time just a video but both day & night launches are something special, sadly all coming to an end.

I got some photos from the launch last year (let me know if you want me to take them off your thread - I'll have no problems if you do!)

They were taken with a Pentax K20D dslr and a Sigma 600mm mirror lens from Titusville, about 10 miles from the launchpad, so there is serious atmospheric turbulence visible in the launch shot, less in the mid-ascent one

Enjoyed both shots, but the launch pad shot is the winner for me
