Studio Lighting Courses

Does anyone have any suggestions for studio lighting courses in the North West? I would like to do more portraiture but I haven't got the faintest idea about lighting a face. I do have a large softbox and a continuous lighting rig as well as a stand and a black backdrop but I don't really know what to do with them.
The other consideration is that I mainly shoot medium and large format film but I do have a Fuji X-T1 as well.

The lencarta ones Gary used to run were pretty good.

Have you read 'Light, Science and Magic'? That's definitely worth a read and experiment. It's definitely a lot easier to footle around with a digital camera to practice. Or if you want to be old school you could get a polaroid back

not sure if it helps some times wilkinsons cameras in Liverpool run courses, I'm sure they did studio lighting one last year ( might be wrong) heres the link to their Liverpool learning suite

Thanks folks, I'm really looking for a hands om course as thats how I learn, vids and reading don't work so well although i will look at the links as its a good place to start.

So you want to Work with continious light and not flash? Could be a bit of a problem with LF.

You can do amazing stuff with large format film but it requires plenty of flash power.
