Stupid q number 1.

Have a new 450D and would like a screen protector for it. Anyone give me some advice with regards to which ones are good? Any to avoid?

I have a Sanyo one. Works great, I would say to get a good one get a good brand or at least a well known one.

My advice (and its controversial) is get some Camera Armour. Not only does it protect the screen it protects the whole camera!

Not everyone likes wrapping their camera in a condom though.

not 100% about consumer bodies but on mine and my 50d the screen can be removed and replaced as its actually a cover, so you'd be putting a cover on a cover

Martin Fields would be my recommendation. Very durable, have used them on all my cameras, (P&S and DSLR), and mobile phones for that matter.

The best is probably the Giottos, but it`s very expensive, mine was about £25, most people seem to like the GGS

With mine you just heat with a hair dryer and prise away gently, but I`m not sure how the GGS ones fit.

Yep - - use one of these on the D5000 (not quite so good as it does stop the rotating screen fully closing, but a minor cost to ensure the screen is proetcted)

I have a Delkin one that I removed within 5 minutes because I didn't like it at all. Made using the screen a PITA because you had to open the cover every time you used it, and then close it again to use the VF.
