Stupid Question.....How Do I Edit This Page????

Just creating a new site using wordpress, now the thing I'm having a problem is I cannot for the life of me edit the first page!
All I want to do is make is into a welcome page, but I've gone through all the pages...and cannot find it, so I thought I'd type in the url hoping the EDIT feature would show, but alas no show!
Can someone point me in the right direction?

To edit pages you have to go into the wp-admin section. Then you can edit the pages in the pages section. If you want to make a certain page the main page then that is in the reading settings I think.

You only get the edit button if you're logged in.

thats the thing, I am logged in, but it says no pages present which I find weird

sorted! deleted the whole program, then reloaded it
