Stupid question re Minolta MD fit lens

Will an MD fit lens fit Sonys?

I am interested in a wide angle for landscape so don't need AF as I will just use hyperfocal distance on a 24mm or less.

Or will they simply not fit on to the camera?

Probably lose too much in IQ and ease of use.

Probably better off looking for a bargain AF lens albeit I probably wouldn't use the Af function.

you can get an adapter to fit M42 lenses to MAF cheaply.
You can even get ones that will beep to confirm focus.
