Stupid question regarding gaming and Macs

I have always bought games for my PC but I donit have my PC up at uni with me, and I want to get dragon age origins to play through while here - my question is, how do I know whether a certain game will work on a mac?

For example:

Is that version specifically for PC or will that work on Macs too?


I know about file types and stuff and the differences between PC/Mac but I have no idea how to tell if a game will work on one or both the operating systems?
 
That's the PC version, you need to get a Mac specific version unfortunately. You can download the game from here via one of the three online retailers.

Another option would be to create a dual-boot Mac which runs Windows as well (OS X has this option) or run a Windows virtual machine from your Mac OS. Then you could run PC software alongside your Apple software.
 
Can't help you there I only have pc and usually buy all my games online, sorry
 
It should say PC or mac on the back of the box. Failing that, ask the person at the checkout, that way if it is not compatible you can take it back and get your money back :)
