Hey all,
I've currently got a Gripped D90 and use a Camlink TPPRE27 Tripod, I'm now looking for a replacement tripod as I would much prefer one that has individually adjustable legs and not got the brace in the middle which restricts placement.
I don't do photography for a living but do love long exposures and star-trails so want something relatively sturdy. In particular I've found that camlink QR plate was plasticky rubbish and never really gave a solid mount.
I've looked at the Fancier 6662A and 6663A on ebay (Otherwise known as Proline and Dolica I believe?), they look pretty good but would like advice from REAL people
So, in a nutshell I'm after:-
Tripod with individually angle adjustable legs
Ball-Head (Open-minded about purchasing a different head than the tripod itself)
Nice solid QR Mechanism
Compatible with snow-feet as I'm going to see the Aurora Borealis in December and don't need my tripod sinking in the snow,
I also do a lot of photography for surfers on the beach, so water/weather resistance would be good
Would love a Manfrotto or SLIK but need to keep to my budget as have a upcoming mortgage lol, Lets see some recommendations here!
