I don't have a copy of Outlook at home as it's expensive to get hold of a copy and I can't get it set up. As a result, I do all my communications by web-based email - hotmail and gmail.

I'm getting to the stage where I want to submit images to various newspapers and magazines and competitions and such, needing me to send large 300dpi images.

This means the filesize of each pic is absolutely heyuage, and sending it can be a nightmare. Has anyone got any tips or tricks I could use, or a free copy of Outlook for a bear of very little brain?

Cheers,

Myky D

try Thunderbird - its free

The open office suite is brilliant and free too (same family)

i would guess magazines would have ftp on there website for uploading to, speak to the magazines and see what they say

If you're running Windows, you will have Windows Mail (basically a stripped-down Outlook) already installed - but Thunderbird is my mail client of choice...

Again, another vote for Thunderbird, but you still need the email address to go with it.

Check with the magazines that they can receive large emails.. most companies have their policies and spamming filters and virus filters and offensive language filters and what next?

just a thought :)
