Success at last

i've tried to catch these birds for ages i think they are moorhens being so dark & move fast it wasnt easy. Might not be brilliant but at least can make out features on face.

unfortunatly only took them as swans i usually shoot were real skittish today & they are usually comfortable with me being there. One of the swans wasn't there which is unusual so hope nothing has happened to it.

Well that's the fun of photography, getting the shot. You will get better shots now you've succeeded once I'm sure. Well done with these

Keep trying. Thats the answer to nearly all photo problems. Sed the wize man ... (not me I no nowt).

As to your shots. Not bad, but watch your focus point and DOF the first one has a lovely sharp neck, but the beak is a tad OOF

Agree re the dof + oof but I've seen (and taken) much worse. Nice to get close enough the get the shots tho. You're right - Moorhen.
