I was looking for a hard case for my base wildlife kit since I got my new body:
1DIV + 300mm f2.8 + 2xTC + 1.4xTC
I needed something that could offer good protection and be waterproof (as sometimes I need to take it on a small boat that might flip!).
Amazon has on offer the flight case for the Canon 500mm IS, from £549.99 down to just over £77 so I thought I check the dimensions and it seemed to be a tight, but possible, fit.

I received the case today and I can confirm that the 1DIV can fit fine WITH the 300mm attached (and the hood reversed), leaving just enough space for the 2 teleconverters
It is a nice snug fit and nothing moves even if I flip the case around so it is a total success!
Just thought that someone else with an 1-series and the 300mm might find this helpful!
