Ah, all the other shots like this I've seen have been on a page with the words 'love, cherish, together and other such drivel

It's a good shot and I think any Bride would be impressed............as long as they've not seen it before.

would prefer the words to be readable. Otherwise it's just a ring in any 'ol book, tbh. The shot is a cliche as the OP suggested, so having the words: love or couple or together etc would be better. Also maybe its my monitor, but it also looks dark/dull as well.

cliched? Nah, theres normally a bible in there too

Looks dark and a heavy yellow cast to me too, the cast might be a deliberate 'old' look, but still too dark for me personally.
