I have a Canon EOS 40D, a 10D and a few older EOS film bodies, i used to use my 20-35mm lens a lot on 35mm and would like that kind of lens for the digital crop sensor cameras i have, i've never felt the desire to go wider but are there any nice lenses for less than £200 that would go wider than my 20-35 EF lens on my Digi cameras? i can't afford a full frame digi just yet.

Might be worth looking at a s/h Sigma 10-20. I haven't used one but the Canon 10-22 will probably be over budget.

I don't believe they would, I was thinking you would be keeping the 20-35 for those :)

yes i will keep that lens for those bodies, the last Sigma i used though was one of the old and clunky cheapy black ones, these sound much better. I'll keep an eye on ebay. Cheers.

thanks, these wouldn't fit the film cameras though would they?

I think that the options to fit both 35mm film (and FF digital) and APS-C are limited and expensive.

The Sigma 12-24mm will fit both, it'll be very wide on your film bodies and will have a field of view of 19-38mm on your APS-C DSLR's. Expensive though.

Sigma 15-30 ex works on my FF so will fit on film bodies. Good write-up and as it works on my 5D3 it should work fine on older bodies.

found a few of those, there's one for £199 buy now on the bay. 24mm equivalent on the 10/40d isn't too bad. Thanks.
