Hi, a couple of my relations are clubbing together to get their aunt a compact for xmas. I believe the budget is £100 maybe £120/130 max.
Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions.
They'd prefer one that doesn't use AA type batteries ie prefer it to have it's own rechargeable battery.
Main use will be snaps of children and holidays ie family album stuff and that's pretty much it, but it would also be nice if it could take some movies too, to play back on the TV.

Found a Panasonic DMC-FS8EB-K on offer at Comet, but can't find any reviews anywhere for it.
Has anyone got one of these? If so are they any good?
Or, as above, I'm open to suggestions for them.

Big thanks for any pointers.

Thanks
Romer

Hi Romer

Yes the Panasonics are very good, as are the Canon IXUS range. We bought a Panasonic P&S earlier this year and have been very pleased with it - we chose it over the equivalent Canon model at the time due to slightly better feel, didn't want a view finder on a P&S and it had a better optical zoom.

Have a look here http://www.buyacamera.co.uk/ they have some great deals on the FS62 model (they are part of Wildings)

No experience of the Nikon S220 though http://www.warehouseexpress.com/category/basecategory.aspx?cat03=3064&Brand=168&Range=1368#first but might also be worth a look

Have a look at the fuji shop all new and refurb with 6 months guarantee and fantastic prices.

The F100FD and Z100FD are both worth consideration at £119 and £69 respectively.

The battery whether AA or Lithium-ion can be recharged with the correct charger.

Both these camera's come with l-ion batteries and chargers.
