Hi everyone.

I’m looking into getting a monopod and MH-100 Wimberley setup; for when I take my R5 and 500 f4 on longer hikes (that are less suitable to be handheld)

I’ve, so far, been unable to track down anywhere UK based that has the ‘AP-603’ replacement foot that the 500 II requires…

So basically, I’m looking for recommendations on a 3rd party quick release alternative that’s compatible with the above mentioned setup.

I’m looking more for the quality; rather than setting a specific spending budget. As I obviously don’t want to scrimp on something that’s holding a setup as valuable as it is…

Any recommendations will be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Might be worth a look at the Really Right Stuff B2-LLR-II Clamp, replaced the standard MH-100 Monogimbal plate with one a few years back and it works really well. Used it successfully with both RRS and Kirk Engineering lens foot replacements. Normally get RRS kit from Photospecialist in the Netherlands and Kirk kit from WEX.

Thanks very much. I’ll have a look at these too.

I have bought a couple of RRS plates from Bob Rigby and the whole process was as expected, trouble free and with no concerns.
