Looks like nearly every other copy of the "R" strap to me.

the R strap doesnt seem to have the steel ribbon in it though.

That is true ...

I can only see that being of any use if you were to walk in an unsafe area looking to get mugged.

I do like the idea of a shock absorber though but not sure how well that would work in practice.

In other ways it looks like a slimmed down version of the R strap though.

I have one and find it quite comfortable to use. Best part is not having the camera swing forward when leaning over.
