Not sure if this is the right section, but not sure where else to post it.

I seen in thread the other day someone recommended an app for tracking the sun and times for sunrise and sunset.

Anyone know the app? I've just downloaded one literally called "Sunrise Sunset" so will try that unless you guess know of a better one
 
All decent weather apps (met, bbc, yahoo) will tell you he sunset and sunrise times, not sure about sun position apps but there's an easier way of detecting the position of the sun ;)
 
Yes, I have the accuweather app, but couldn't see the times :lol:

Just got in from walking the pooch, and this one I've downloaded seems OK, and shows where the position will be.

As you say, there's an easier way ;)

Not like I'm a pro or anything anyway
 
I use a free app on my phone called Sundroid which tells you rise and set times for the sun and moon.
 
TPE. I'm a tight git but I've forked out the couple of quid for this app - the only one I've paid for! On a GPS enabled device, it can show you exactly where the Sun and Moon will rise and set and will overlay the info on a map/aerial photograph so you can pick locations to get the Sun/Moon in the right position as it rises/sets. Unfortunately it can't tell you if the event will be spectacular.

Just installed Magic Hour, very good! Don't confuse it with MagicHour (one word!) as that's a fake filter app, lol!
 
Photo pills. It's awesome has everything you'll need along with augmented reality, so for example you are at a location but the lights not quite where you want it you hold your phone up and can see where the sun will be at any time of day! It also does stars the moon, Milky Way hyper focal tables maps etc... It's abou £6 and worth every penny. You can plan beforehand too with it.

Unsure if it's available as an app but worth a try; suncal.net. Does the usual sunrise and sunset times but also shows the movement and position of the sun/moon relative to any position on the ground.
 
i use SunDroid. Gives all the times, maps, sun positions etc very useful little tool.
