There's a very noticeable halo between the sky and mountains from pushing one or other part too much.

I think I agree with most of the comments.
I did push the colours more than I thought I had when reviewing the raw. From memory, I was disappointed that I hadn't captured how the sky actually was - which was much nearer to the finished edit.
However, I think that I made the decision to make the rest of it dark as there's really not a lot interesting in the rest of the shot. I think the sky was the only interesting thing about it.
Had it been earlier in the ski season, most of this would have been covered with snow, and it would have been a different shot.
The halo, however, is on the original - a 'character' of the lens perhaps?
