Hi guys!
I purchased a spare Kingston 8GB 133x CF card recently, to use in my D700. I got round to testing it last night and boy, was it sloooow!!
Reading and writing was painfully sluggish, and even reviewing the images took and absolute age.
I'm not talking about high fps shooting either, just in single shot mode, but it actually prevented me from taking any more shots for about 30-40 seconds while it recorded 3 images to the card! I have never experienced such dire performance before, even with apparently slower cards.
Have I got a duff one, is it a compatibility issue with the D700, or are they all this woeful?

It wasn't just a slightly noticeable difference in pace either, it really is almost unusable in my experience.
