So, only told yesterday that me, my brother and dad are going skiing in France for a week - and we're going this Friday! A good old dad and son time:D Talk about short notice, and all the work I have got to do:shake:

Soooo, my questions are.... Do I take my Canon 30D, gripped, Flashgun, 100-300 USM, and hopefully a Siggy 18-55....or go small and take my Fuji S5500 and Canon Ixus 40? I don't want to be laden down with gear...but I don't want to have rubbish shots...then again, we won't be visiting cities or anything, just staying in the ski resort..so its not as if theres great photo opportunites, other than the usual....hmmm

Any ideas?

If you want to be taking shots whilst on the slopes, it's probably best to take a compact camera, because you won't want to be skiing with a big backpack and loads of heavy camera gear. That's just my view though, maybe there are hardcore skiiers who carry their full kit up a slope.

The only time it'd be worth taking it would probably be afterwards, when you have time to relax and take some nice photos in the evening.

Maybe, just take the 30D and one lens in a small bag, and also your compact for the slopes. Good compromise

I think I might do just that....or maybe take my old 10D instead, just in case...yeh, I reckon I'll do that.

Thanks :)
