I was privileged to live on the edge of a local marina and saw the swans everyday, I was delighted to be "allowed" close enough to get some goodish shots.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Wow, it looks like you caught one hatching or am I mistaken?
 
Yep, it was hatching, there were 8 by the time they finished :)
 
Have you got any other shots of it actually emerging from the egg? It would be nice to add them to the original post to give a hatching sequence
 
Unfortunately not, as Mum had other ideas, but I have this one taken a few minutes later
