Switching from Sony to Canon

Just put my Sony a200 plus gear and my Playstation 3 on Ebay.
Gonna get this Canon 450D at Warehouse Express.

Seems logical as my two brothers in law have 400D's and some decent lenses I can borrow until I build my kit up.

I'm wanting to do the same. I have an a200, and my girlfriend has a 450D.

I still love the a200 though, its a bargain. If I ever was to seriously look at upgrading i'd have to check out the a700, but being able to share canon gear with my girlfriend is a major plus.

Congratulations on two outbreaks of common sense. For all the fanboyism you see here and elsewhere, at the end of the day the ability to blag some gear from friends and family is worth far more than the relatively small differences between competing brands.

I occasionally go out with a friend shooting and we just swop our cards between each other's cameras if we want to change lens lengths and don't have the right ones with us. Do have to check the settings but it works well.

Why the middle step? Just go straight to Nikon.
