Swithering what to take with me to Japan for 8 days of Photography

I am going to Japan in April and wondered if I should take my 300 f2.8 with me along with a bunch of other lenses.
I will be taking Leica for Street and Nikon for everything else, my old lady also shoots Nikon so we will have a selection of lenses to share.

What do I want the 300mm for……shooting Mount Fuji across a lake and maybe some exotic birds.

Take as little as possible.
The wife does come in handy though for carrying things.

Depends on where in Japan you're going and what you want to shoot. When I was there last I primarily used a 18-55mm lens, but then I was on top of Mt Fuji I rarely had the urge to use the 70-200 I took. I'll be there in the summer and am planning to take the 24-105.
