Syncing iPad with two machines

Ok, so I've synced my iPad with my Macbook Pro which has all of my songs and apps on it, this is fine. However, I then want to get some of my iPhoto folders synced but they're all on my iMac. So is it possible to sync different things between different machines, so music and apps from one and photos from another, without losing anything in the process?

I do believe you can click 'manage file manually' check box on the itune sync screen which lets you sync contacts, apps, photos, music and movies seperately

Why not push the photo's you want into albums and sync to the MBP using Home sharing rather than connecting the iPad to two devices?
