Guys,

I have a challenge on my hands.
I want to try and replicate this table mount solution:

I know that Manfrotto have their 'Magic Arm' solution but ideally I would like to do it a bit cheaper :)

the requirement would be to mount a webcam over a desk to take both close up and distance photos and to be able to record video of what is displayed on a mobile phone screen.

If the system is easily collapsible that would be a big bonus!

I appreciate any input :)

Even a flexible arm would be ideal :D

I have got a Dunco Desktop Studio, its prime function is for shadow free mini-studio/product photography - it has a sturdy base, adjustable curved background, twin flexible daylight fluorescent lamps and includes a camera mounting (quick release ball tripod head) articulated arm mechanism similar to what you may be seeking.

The Desktop Studio looks similar to this:

This is the Mark II version

Mine comes with both a white and grey background, but you can put any colour paper/vinyl on you want - it has a slightly different background and camera support system, but basically the same principle as above, it all packs away flat, it is a bit heavy circa 12kgs + with the base and the metal support arm - but a nice piece of kit.

They are quite expensive at ~ £350 - I am not using mine, so if this would be of interest for your project I will list it in the classifieds.
