Looking at the possibility of picking up a tablet as I'm trying to sell my laptop to save carrying so much bulk! and I've been finding myself just using my laptop for the internet, music and video, stuff I can do just as well with a tablet.

I know the obvious contender is the iPad but I was wondering how people are getting on with some of Android ones, in particular the Motorola Xoom which looks a really nice device.
 
if you can go to PCWorld/Currys to see them all in a row and have a bash, I went with the intention of a Moto Xoom or Asus Transformer, iPad2 wasnt even in the running, 2 hours later after playing with them all I left empty handed as the iPad2 threw a curveball in my path so more investigation was needed..

a week later it was the iPad2 that won me over.

so I would defo go and check them all out, just like cameras they pretty much do the same job but all feel and operate slightly different.
 
iPad threw me too - I've been a Windows/Blackberry user for quite some time but took the plunge and bought the iPad ... amazed by how much I'm using it for work and play.
Phone upgrade then took me from the trusted Blackberry Bold to the iPhone 4 and just yesterday I ditched Internet Explorer for Safari!
 
Mine's an iPad 1 and does all I want it to, I guess it depends what you want the tablet to do.
 
PC world near me had new iPad 1s still the other week, obviously much cheaper than the iPad 2s.
 
Tablet's are not bad... in fact they could be handy (I do not own one, yet thought). But also went to PC world the other day, and looked at the wall of various tablets... but what kept me in distance from iPads is the fact there is no USB or/and SD card reader.

Yes, yes I know... small detail, but if you imagine a situation where you take some photos, and you're out and about (on a trip or holidays, or so) ... and you would like to just quickly glimpse at some of them on a bit bigger screen than the camera, you just simply can't, cause there is no way of loading them onto iPad.

Now, then I saw some other tablets with USB or SD card, or even both.. and that simple fact would decide for me if I would be picking a tablet... something to keep in mind.

There are numerous ways to upload images onto the ipad, I've even heard of them being used tethered :)
