Tagging etc in Instagram

I've seen a few comments on images about adding tags to photographs to enter contests etc.

Anyone have any idea how to do this? The only tagging feature I can see is the location... :shrug:

cant see anything on the support forum about tagging at the moment, I know you can tag users by using @whatever, maybe thats the way to do it? or with # tag?

I think it'll be the @, as I've seen that on a couple of comments. Presumably you just do this in the caption.

I think so, I was going to try it but got lost a bit!

I can't see how it can work at the moment.

I've used the @ tag, but that's purely as a targeted text response, ie a shorthand way of saying who you are replying to.

There's no search function in the App and no accessibility from the web at the moment, so I suspect that it's just Twitter language drifting in.
